Borgo Dei Conti, Perugia

The final hotel we stayed at was the Borgo Dei Conti, located in the rolling hills of Montepetriolo, Perugia.

Our second cooking class took place in Montefalco at a small Villa walking distance from the town. We had two energetic and talented chefs who gave us some delicious recipes to take home.

Cannoli dough with frosted flakes baked in the oven with powdered sugar.. yum

Anna hard at work with the sautéed veggies!

Mom and I worked at the dough for the focaccia bread and pizza.

Unbelievable rosemary and olive bread sticks... before and after.

Dad - pretty proud of his spaghetti cutting abilities

Mom working hard at the pasta dough

Chicken Cacciatore ... roastin' on the stove

AND THE RESULTS.......
Dessert

And lunch!

Dad and I got to have our own adventure to a local winery for some tasting and education!

Banfi Vineyard

After our three days in Sienna at Castel Monastero we hopped in our rental and drove down to Perugia. Along the way we were lucky enough to get a tour of the Banfi wine vineyards. Thank you to Mr. Trimble!

Outside of Castello Banfi vineyard: Castello Banfi is a family-owned vineyard estate and winery in the Brunello region of Tuscany.

The incredible canisters that hold the wine during the initial fermentation stages. The seeds will fall to the bottom to be cleaned out and the skins will float to the top.

They bottle an impressive 50,000 bottles of wine a day.

The wine is held in these French Oak barrels. The oak is crucial to the aging process.

Mom infront of her favorite section, the aged balsamic vinegar.
The balsamic is aged 12 years and is more of a glaze, absolutely delicious!

After our vineyard tour we enjoyed a wonderful five course tasting lunch courtesy of Mr. Trimble. We even enjoyed a glass of wine per meal....

Which resulted in mom falling asleep at the table...

Dad feels at home here..

and she fell asleep waiting in the car...
